An Oklahoma City-based investment executive, Duke Ligon is the senior vice president of Mekusukey Oil Company. Also serving as a consultant or board member for various organizations, Duke Ligon was elected to chairman of the board of the Tulsa, Oklahoma-based SemGroup Energy Partners (SGEP).
Replacing Sundar S. Srinivasan from Manchester Securities, Mr. Ligon assumed the chairman role at SGEP in 2009. He uses his extensive experience in the energy sector to advise SGEP on strategies to diversify and grow its energy portfolio. With energy assets in the United States, Canada, Mexico, and the United Kingdom, SGEP is a leading provider of collection, transportation, and storage services for crude oil, natural gas, and refined petroleum products. The company currently employs about 1,200 people.
In addition to hauling and terminalling crude oil, SGEP treats, processes, and distributes natural gas. To position itself strategically, the company established a state-of-the-art marine terminal on the Houston Ship Channel.
